In 2009 the Lake of Stars is being supported for the first time by the national young volunteers service – www.vinspired.com - together we are working towards recruiting volunteers to take part in the UK-based music events in 2009.

We are looking to work with partners on creating volunteer led events.

What we can offer;

  • The Lake of Stars brand – help in selling tickets and booking artists
  • Mentoring - members of the core vinspired Lake of Stars team to shape and inform the creation of the event
  • Knowledge and experience in all aspects of event management;
    Artist liaison, online marketing, stewarding, budgeting, production, street team marketing, PR, Guest list management, photography.

vinspired Lake of Stars events need to;

  • Carry the vinspired Lake of Stars brand
  • Be led by volunteers
  • Be non profit making – events should aim to repay costs and donate funds raised to charity and the Lake of Stars Festival

About the festival

vinspired and Lake of Stars enters its sixth year on Thursday 15th – Sunday 18th October. From a simple idea to promote tourism in a part of the world little heard of and to unite diverse musical and cultural backgrounds, the event has established itself as one of the most respected projects of its kind.

In previous years the Lake of Stars has attracted a broad range of talent, from British DJs including Groove Armada’s Andy Cato, Radio 1’s Annie Mac and Basement Jaxx’s Felix B, through to inspired live and acoustic sessions from Seth Lakeman in 2008 and Radioclit’s and Esau’s project The Very Best.

About Lake of Stars

Lake of Stars has been running the festival for 5 years. Our mission is to put on quality music events internationally and in Malawi develop the tourism and entertainment industry and raising funds and profile for charities in Malawi.

About vinspired

v aims to inspire a new generation of volunteers (aged 16-25) in England. They do this by funding voluntary organisations all over England to create inspiring, diverse opportunities and by helping to overcome barriers that stop people from taking action to improve lives, communities and the planet. Their aim is to create a culture where volunteering comes naturally – and where the benefits of volunteering are understood and celebrated.
