Satori

Davina, aka Satori, is a phoenix from the ashes. As DJ/producer active on the Johannesburg scene, she has opened for DJ Yoda & secured a residency at Tokyo Star’s Thursday dubstep parties. Playing funk, afrobeat, jazz, dub and dubstep, she is the resident DJ of Skaftien, an artist stokvel collective, and at 100ABC'ers Club, a fundraising initiative for NGO's who work with children. She DJs around the city at the hottest music venues such as The Bassline, The Woods, Townhall, Melrose Arch, Lucky Bean and Le Mix Room.

Satori recently played Ultrafest, Smoking Dragon Women’s festival and ripped it up at Bushfire 2011. As a turntablist she is one of the few female scratch DJs in the country cruising with the likes of the Spindle Crew and DJ Soosh.

Satori is currently producing a female mix cd in collaboration with Slang Audio of Keleketla, recording material for a musical theatre production, and also currently working on material for her debut album.
