The Young Offenders Institute has been combining beer, music and ping pong in East London since 2007 when they started a monthly night at the Fleapit, Columbia Road, E2.
They took their patented three-strikes and you're out round-the-table ping pong formula to regular nights at 93 Feet East, Brick Lane, E1 and The Black Heart, Camden, NW1. In addition to their regular nights, they love getting involved in events that could do with some added bounce, from the 2010 Ping! London initiative to an urban orchard to the Field Day festival in Victoria Park, and now to Lake of Stars.
As DJs the YOI serve up a soundtrack that mixes funk, soul, hip hop, rock and electronica with only one rule - every track must have some bounce. |
